Why join?

We are a small self-supporting incorporated association established to provide support and up to date information to our members, and to raise funds for Australian research into inherited retinal diseases. We have a small base on the 4th Floor of Ross House, 247-251 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, where we keep our office. Members are encouraged to drop by for a chat or a cup of tea when the office is open. However we receive no government funding and so are dependent on membership fees and fundraising for our running costs and the funds that we give to Australian research each year.

Retina Australia (Vic) Inc membership is for anyone who wants to show that they care about inherited blindness, and who wants to help by being part of a community group that supports the vision impaired and current research into the causes and possible treatments for inherited retinal diseases.

Membership means we’ll keep you updated with our news (in the format of your choice) and you can attend events such as our AGM to meet up with others who want to help people with inherited blindness.

Membership categories and fees

The membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June, and the membership categories and fees are as follows:

  • Individual - $40
  • Pensioner/student over 16 years - $30
  • Family (2 adults + any children under 16) - $55
  • Organisations - $65
